HookFirst three seconds

We make the first three seconds impossible to skip, and the next ten worth staying for.

PacingOn the breath

Cut where a person would breathe, not where a clock says. Long videos lose people in the middle and short ones in the first seconds, so we pace for both.

CaptionsOn the beat

Captions land with the words, sit clear of faces and buttons, and colour one word at a time at most.

SoundOne frame early

Sound leads the picture. A cut lands better when the ear gets there a frame before the eye.

ColourFeel, not nice

Art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something. The grade serves that.
